From my weekend bag&a Draw/Tuliaisia&arpajaisia

My souvenirs from Stockholm were very modest; a couple of magazines, a roll of old wallpaper and a few pocketfuls of chestnuts. As I'm ready to part with the magazines (Petit is a Swedish children's wear/trends magazine, Bolig a Danish interior magazine), I will put up a very low key draw. The Petit magazine was waiting in our hotel room and has passed through a few other hands, so it's not exactly in mint condition but fine anyway. (And you get to read a beautiful article on Manteli.) So if you're interested, drop me a line in the comment box, the prize draw will be held on Tuesday evening!

Tukholman tuliaiseni olivat kovin vaatimattomat; pari lehteä, palanen vanhaa tapettia ja muutama taskullinen kastanjoita. Lehdistäkin olen valmis jo luopumaan, eli pistän pystyyn pienimuotoiset arpajaiset. Petit-lehti odotteli hotellihuoneessa ja muutama muukin on sen lukenut, eli ei ihan priima mutta hyvässä kuosissa kuitenkin. (Ja siinä voi ihastella mm. juttua Mantelista.) Mikäli siis kiinnostaa, laita puumerkkiä kommenttilootaani, juhla-arvonnan suoritan tiistai-iltana!

P.S. Some of you were asking for the beetroot-chocolate cake recipe. I can't understand why I can't find it! I got it off the Internet somewhere, but just cannot remember where... But there are plenty of similar recipes if you google on chocolate, beetroot and cake!
P.S. Jotkut kyselivät punajuuri-suklaakakkureseptiä, enkä sitä kuolemaksikaan enää löydä. Netistä sen bongasin, mutten löydä enää mistä... Samantapaisia reseptejä tuntuu löytyvän aika lailla niin englanniksi kuin suomeksikin, kun googlettaa esim. sanoilla punajuuri ja kakku!

Postcard from Stockholm

We left Helsinki behind,
Helsinki jäi taakse,

and when we woke up in the morning Sweden was entwined in a magical cloud.
ja kun aamulla heräsimme oli Ruotsi kääriytynyt taikapilveen.

The coast line dotted with one idyllic seaside house after the next.

Rantaviivan talot toinen toistaan idyllisempiä, kuin suoraan Lantliv-lehdestä.

We window-shopped in the old town, Gamla stan,

Teimme ikkunostoksia vanhassa kaupungissa,

and visited Pippi, Madicken, Emil and others at Junibacken.

ja kyläilimme Pepin, Marikin, Eemelin ja muiden luona Junibackenissa.



The hotel bed was put to the test with Pippi,
Hotellin sänkyä testattiin Pepin kanssa,

and we admired the views from the windows.
ja ihasteltiin ikkunoista avautuvia näkymiä.

And we wandered around the streets of Södermalm in search for the toy museum. I've heard it's a trendy area, but I think we were a little too south as there were no trendy cafés or shops in sight, just the lone dog walker, children in daycare and silent backyards.

Ja lisää marhailua, Södermalmin katuja kulutettiin lelumuseota etsiessä. Taisimme kuitenkin olla liiankin etelässä, sillä yhtäkään trendikahvilaa tai -putiikkia emme matkalla bonganneet. Yksinäisiä koiran ulkoiluttajia, päiväkotilapsia ja hiljaisia pihoja sitäkin enemmän.
