Our bathroom is like a piece of ancient history, and in my view has a softly caressing atmoshpere. It was one of the gems that I fell for and the agent shunned at the viewing. Although everything is old, it feels tidy and works fine for us for now. I was delighted that the previous 87-year-old owner left all the shelves, hooks and soap dish for us to enjoy. The house will have a huge pipe renovation in the not-so-distant future, and our bathroom will undergo renovation then, even to put in some water insulation as is required these days. But until then, we will soak up the ambience as it is and take care not to splash too much. (Sorry about some of the pictures being extra-blurry, it's so grey out there that taking photographs seems the utmost challenge these days.)
Kylppärimme on vanha kuin taivas ja siellä on mielestäni suloisen pehmoinen tunnelma. Oli yksi asunnon herkkupala, johon näytössä lankesin ja välittäjä taivasteli. Vaikka kaikki on vanhaa, se tuntuu siistiltä ja yllättävän toimivaltakin. Olin kovin iloinen kun 87-vuotias omistajar jätti kaikki vanhat koukut, hyllyt ja saippuatelineen paikalleen. Taloon on putkiremontti tulossa muutaman vuoden päästä, jolloin kylppäri on pakko remontoida, vesieristeitäkään siellä ei ole. Mutta siihen asti nautitaan tunnelmasta tällaisenaan ja varotaan roiskimasta liikaa.
