We lived in paradise / Paratiisi, jossa elimme

We had hired the 'gite' that belongs to this stunningly beautiful house, and the gardens including a pool and orchards were freely at our use. I could not imagine a more amazing place, and I get a lump in my throat just thinking about the idyllic existense we had for a week. The place is owned by a charming English couple - she used to have an antique shop in London before they moved to France permanently a few years ago. Talking to her just fed my inspiration :) I promise to close my travel report here and am thankful for your patience (unless I find myself snapping some pictures of my souvenirs...).

Vuokrasimme näin ihanan talon pihapiirissä olevan 'giten', pihapiiri uima-altaineen ja hedelmätarhoineen oli vapaasti käytettävissämme. En voisi ihanampaa paikkaa kuvitella ja pala nousee kurkkuun kun muistelee tuota idylliä. Paikan omistaa hurmaava englantilaispariskunta -emännällä oli aiemmin Lontoossa antiikkiliike kunnes muuttivat muutama vuosi sitten pysyvästi Ranskaan. Keskustelut hänen kanssaan vain lisäsivät huumaani :) Lupaan päättää matkasepustukset tähän kärsivällisyydestänne kiittäen (ellen sitten tuliaisisia vielä innostu räpsimään...).

We met up with my hubby's wonderful, eccentric aunt, who has a holiday home in Loches. The town was absolutely charming. And if someone else is interested, too, one of the photos shows a house for sale right by the castle, phone number and all...

Kävimme tervehtimässä mieheni mahtavan eksentristä tätiä, jolla on kesäkoti Loches'issa. Kaupunki oli kertakaikkisen hurmaava. Ja jos jotakuta muutakin kiinnostaa, yhdessä kuvassa vilahtaa myytävänä oleva koti linnan kupeessa puhelinnumeroineen päivineen...

Loire valley was where we were heading for. Sunflower fields, lavender, châteaus, stone villages, such warm warm people, markets, peace, pure beauty. Houses some shabby, others posher, but aesthetic all the same, old and dignified. And here I took plenty of photos, so there'll be more.

Reissumme pääsuuntana oli Loiren jokilaakso. Auringonkukkapeltoja, laventelia, linnoja, kivikyliä, sydämellisiä ihmisiä, markkinoita, rauhaa, pelkkää kauneutta.
