Monday rolled in after a charming autumn weekend. Yesterday we strolled around our old neighbourhood in town, which unfolds in leisurely beauty on a Sunday afternoon. We were meaning to fill our pockets with chestnuts from the magnificent trees in a park, but were too early as they were still firmly hanging from the branches. And it's nice to find a good old antique shop brimming with all sorts of goodies open on a Sunday when everything else is closed.

Makoisa syysviikonloppu takana. Eilen käyskentelimme vanhoilla kulmillamme kaupungissa. Verkkaiset syyssunnuntait ovat siellä erityisen nautinnollisia. Hesperian puistikosta oli tarkoitus saalistaa kastanjoita taskut täyteen, mutta olimmekin liian ajoissa liikkeellä, puissa vielä jököttivät. Ja Kotikadun Mainio on siitäkin mainio, että on sunnuntaisin auki.

Today I had early lunch with vegetable soup, fresh bread from the bakery and Toast. And today this dropped in the letterbox for my evening read, I've fancied subscribing for ages, and can't wait to start flicking through the pages.

Tänään nautin varhaisen lounaan kasvissopan, leipomosta haetun leivän ja Toastin kera. Iltalukemiseksi on varattuna tämä. On houkututtanut tilata jo pitkään, mutta kauhistellut hintoja, kunnes netissä tuli vastaan melko kohtuullisesti.

Friday Inspiration

This old wooden house belongs to a glass designer and is situated along the Hudson river close to New York. I feel really drawn to the earthy, muted, natural look throughout the house.

Here we've been promised a sunnyish weekend, so will tackle jobs in the garden, harvesting the rest of the apples, tidying up and planting a load of bulbs for the spring. Have a lovely weekend!


Tässä vanhassa puutalossa asustelee lasimuotoilija, ja se sijaitsee Hudson -joen varrella New Yorkin läheisyydessä. Sen teeskentelemätön, luonnollinen tyyli vetoaa.

Viikonloppuna on toivomuksena nauttia auringostakin ja puuhastella pihassa - pistää paikkoja kuntoon, kerätä loput omenat ja istuttaa kukkasipuleita kevättä varten. Ihanaa viikonloppua!

gawked at what people over in Copenhagen are wearing, my trip is booked! Any tips on must-visit little shops etc. are received with great pleasure! (We will be taking the streets of both Copenhagen and around Helsingor.)

Friday Inspiration

I'm feeling a little guilty for not posting such a lot of my own stuff lately. I don't, afterall, intend the entire contents of the blog to solely comprise Friday Inspiration posts either. But I suppose these seasons come and go, shifting between posting often and less often. During this autumn time, I'll be looking for some new direction for my working life, which will be both time- and thought-consuming. I don't wish to shelve the blog completely, but it may well be that intervals between posts will grow longer for some time. With these pictures I want to wish you a lovely weekend! Poden vähän huonoa omaatuntoa siitä, etten pahemmin ole viime aikoina blogia päivittänyt omilla jutuillani. Ei ole tarkoitus, että koko blogin sisältö on pelkkää perjantai-inspispostaustakaan. Mutta näitä kausia taitaa tulla ja mennä, milloin sitä päivittää ahkerammin, milloin laveammin. Nyt syksyllä olen laittamassa työelämääni vähän uuteen kuosiin, mikä tulee syömään ajatuksia ja aikaa. Blogia en halua hyllyttää, mutta saattaa olla, että tauot postausten välillä pitenevät ainakin joksikin aikaa. Näiden kuvien myötä toivottelen oikein hyvää viikonloppua!
