Just like Annu, we've discovered that in spring time, the front steps are the nicest possible living room/café/therapy room. The sun's rays seem the sweetest in that very spot. Wishes of a sunny day!

Girly-whirly

I'm gradually turning my thoughts to our little girl's room, although it will be a little longer before we get busy in there. This blog seems to work as a handy scrapbook for bringing together images that inspire me, making it a lot easier to then put one's hands on a particular room with a slightly clearer idea of what seems to work for us. So more inspiration pictures in this post, hopefully they'll strike a cord with some of you, too!

Alan vähitellen puntaroimaan tyttäremme huonetta, vaikkakin menee vielä tovi ennen kuin alamme ahkeroimaan siellä. Tämä blogi toimii minulle tavallaan leikekirjana, johon on kätevää koota inspiroivia kuvia ja ideoita, mikä puolestaan helpottaa itse käytännön työhön ryhtymistä kun omat ajatukset ovat selkeytyneet. French stylist Camille Soulayrol helps kickstart the weekend with a dash of joie de vivre - I originally saw some of her images on Decor8, and had to go and explore some more!

With no trendy cafés in sight (luckily we do have one café-bakery within walking distance, which is a far cry from 'trendy', quite refreshing really!) - sometimes you have to pretend you have a kitchen cum café at home. My first attempt at making Italian style biscotti - great for dunking in a mid-morning milky coffee!

Kaukana trendikahviloista (onneksi kävelyetäisyydeltä löytyy kuitenkin kahvila-leipomo, joka ei ole kyllä trendikästä nähnytkään, aikamoisen virkistävää oikeastaan!) - joskus pitää leikkiä, että oma keittiö muuntautuu kahvilaksi. Ensimmäinen yritykseni leipoa italialaistyylisiä biscotti -korppuja - herkullista aamupäivän maitokahviin upotettuna!

Today the sun has caressed from dawn till long in the evening. We cleared some flower beds and got into some serious raking. Afterwards my skin has devoured the sun's rays and my eyes have taken in a great deal of summery inspiration. I just had to bring home a few of this spring's first crocuses from the garden.

Tänään on aurinko hellinyt aamusta pitkälle iltaan, kukkapenkkien siivoilun ja haravoinnin päälle olen sitä oikein ahmimalla ahminut, samoin kuin silmilläni kauniin kesäisiä kuvia. Kotiin oli ihan pakko kantaa muutama pihamme ensimmäisistä krookuksista.

Friday Inspiration - A Summer Breeze

We are having a day off today from preschool etc, no errands to run, no deadlines to meet :) So it feels like the weekend already. The sun is shining and we might even get busy in the garden, these pictures seem to inspire to do so anyway. I hope you have a relaxed weekend!

Vietämme tänään eskarista ylimääräistä vapaapäivää, ei viemisiä ja tuomisia tai muita asioita juostavana. Aurinko pilkistää jo aamutuimaan ja tänään saatamme jopa rykäistä pihahommiin, näistä kuvista siihen saa kenties lisäpuhtia. Rentouttavaa viikonloppua!

In my bag

I received this challenge ages ago via the lovely Blasse Vielfalt, the idea being to show the contents of what one carries around in ones handbag. To be honest, this is a slightly stylized version, as I did throw out the scrumpled receipts and tram tickets.

Sain haasteen Blasse Vielfaltin välityksellä, ajatuksena vilauttaa käsilaukun sisältöä. Rehellisyyden nimissä tässä vähän stailattu versio, kuitit ja ratikkaliput sentään siivosin pois.

Generally I grab my handbag when I'm off somewhere nice by myself, usually getting the train to go to town, as the pushchair serves as my main holdall in the daytime. So I don't really have much in there, the most important thing being something nice to read on the journey.

I won't pass the challenge on to anyone in particular, but if you fancy taking on the tag it would be interesting to see what's in your bag!

Yleensä käsilaukun heitän olalle kun olen matkalle jonnekin mukavaan paikkaan itsekseni, yleensä kun lähden junalla kaupungille, sillä muulloin tungen omaisuuteni rattaiden kyytiin. Eli tavaramäärä on minimoitu, tärkeimpänä jotakin kivaa luettavaa matkan ajaksi.

Haastetta en laita eteenpäin kenellekään tietylle, mutta mikäli huvittaa osallistua niin kiinnostuneena seuraillaan mitä laukusta löytyy!
