Ah, Friday! You might recognise some of these photos from Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic Interiors. These kitchen photos make me a little impatient to have ours ready, too, but patience, patience... I've been battling with a cold and some rather annoying work stuff this week, so I'm going to welcome the weekend in with open arms. Take care you lovelies!

Near, yet so far...

The plan was to spend the weekend under the London sun, but looks like I'll have to make other plans. At the moment I'm just so disappointed! The flight's not been officially cancelled yet, but the situation does look rather hopeless... 

Update: The flight was cancelled right after I typed this, hopefully we'll have another chance soon. Luckily we're not stranded at an airport somewhere in the world like so many others, lots of patience to all those waiting!

Tarkoitus oli siis lähteä pitkän viikonlopun viettoon Lontooseen, jossa oli luvassa keväiset 17 astetta, unelmaisia näyttelyitä ja kaikenlaista silmänruokaa. Ennen kaikkea pieni levähdystauko ystävän kanssa kaikesta arkisesta pyörityksestä. Nyt meni sattuneesta syystä suunnitelmat uusiksi, kyllä harmittaa! Toivon mukaan saadaan vielä buukattua uusiksi piakkoin. Täytyy tietysti olla kiitollinen, monet kun ovat jumissa lentokentillä maailman eri kolkissa ties kuinka pitkiä aikoja, kärsivällisyyttä heille!

Sometimes I just have to try and steal a moment in the midst of all the renovation dust and chaos. Our coffee maker was the first victim of a shattering renovation moment, so I rummaged around for our old moka pot, which seems to make an even smoother cup of coffee.  I seem to be gripped by flower fever every spring, but luckily I'm not dreaming of an entire garden this time, but some pretty window boxes would suffice. A lush array of herbs and pastelly blooms would be lovely.

Täällä remonttipölyn ja kaaoksen keskellä on vain yritettävä välistä varastaa itselleen rauhaisa hetki. Kahvinkeitin on ensimmäinen remontin uhri, joten kaivoin vanhan mutteripannumme esiin. Kaasuliedellä siinä poriseekin aivan loistavat sumpit. Keväisin iskee näemmä edelleen kukkakuume, nyt ei onneksi kokonaisen pihan täydeltä, vaan ikkunalootia toivoisin pihan puolelle. Voisi sulassa sovussa kasvatella yrttejä ja kaikenlaisia kaunokaisia.
