Children's rooms are definitely a soft spot for me. Here are some endearing rooms from Finland with lovely details, colour and light. 

Lastenhuoneet on näemmä edelleen heikkoutena. Näistä tykkään ihan hirmuisesti, herttaisia kokonaisuuksia ja hauskoja yksityiskohtia, väriä ja valoa. Kaiken kukkuraksi armaasta kotimaastamme.

Daughter's room progress & inspiration

We managed to get the wallpaper up in our daughter's room this weekend. The lamp will probably go elsewhere and the room is still looking rather grown-up, but I guess it will start looking like a child's nest once all her thing have found their place. One more layer of soap for the floor, the vent needs a cover, a few other tiny adjustments and we're done.

Viikonlopun aikana saatiin tapetti tytön huoneen seinään. Tuo lamppu ei todennäköisesti huoneeseen tule jäämään ja muutenkin näyttää aika aikuismaiselta vielä, mutta eiköhän siitä vielä lapsen huone tule, kun tavarat löytävät paikkansa. Vielä yksi kerros suopaa lattiaan, hormin ritilä paikoilleen ja muuta pientä silausta, sitten on valmista.

Bonpoint

On trips to London or Paris I've usually made sure I get to pop into Bonpoint - not only to admire the impeccable children's clothes (which I can't afford), but also to gawk at the stylish layouts and whimsical details of their stores. So here for a little Bonpoint inspiration. The bottom link takes you for a little visit to the Paris shop.

Pariisin tai Lontoon reissuilla on yleensä pitänyt päästä piipahtamaan Bonpointissa täydellisyyttä hipovia lastenvaatteita hypistelemässä (joihin ei ikävä kyllä ole varaa), mutta myös ihastelemassa putiikkien taianomaisia yksityiskohtia. Tässä vähän Bonpoint-inspista. Alimmasta pääsee nojatuolimatkalle Pariisin kauppaan.

 

It's a gorgeous sunny Friday here and we have some nice things planned for the weekend. (Above all we get to escape floor scraping. We found a layer of some type of felt glued solid onto the floorboards under the lino in the living room, which we've been scraping off inch by inch on our knees, meaning we had to postpone the sanding until next week. The joys :)) 


Aurinkoinen perjantai ja mukavia viikonloppujuttuja tiedossa. (Päästään ainakin lattian rapsutusta pakoon. Olohuoneen korkkimaton alla on epämääräistä huopaa tiukasti liimattuna kiinni lattialautoihin, jota ollaan täällä polvillamme rapsuteltu sentti sentiltä irti. Piti siis hiojan tuloa siirtää ensi viikolle. Oi iloa :))

Apolline à Paris

Thank you for bringing me cheer with your messages while I've been gone. We're back home safe and sound after a spot of camping on the Åland islands, then the luxury of a few days in the heart of Stockholm. 

Apolline, creator behind a range of exquisite dolls and other soft creatures, has left a unique mark on her home, too. You can lift the curtain to her little shop here.
